- Olive wood requires some periodic care.
- Only hand wash, never put in the dishwasher. Once washed, dry immediately.
- Regularly using a neutral oil (such as olive oil) and a soft cloth to oil the surfaces of the wood will bring the grain's natural beauty alive, then let it absorb the oil for an hour.

This is the most beautiful kitchen island I have ever seen on the Web or anywhere else. It is just the right size for my new kitchen at 60cm diameter. It is extraordinarily heavy, owing to the excellent thickness of the magnificent olivewood top. A friend and I were scarcely able to raise it onto its legs and walk it into the kitchen from the front doorstep. The blue is a thrillingly vibrant hue, just right. The small curved drawer is a joy, just the right place to keep all the extra sharp Victorinox knives. I have bought a chopping board from Lakeland to protect the olivewood. Since all my other worktops are covered with appliances, this fabulous free-standing worktop will be the only place that I can chop my vegetables or make pastry. I thoroughly recommend this butcher’s block, there is nothing else like it. I am not sure why it is called a cart, there did not seem to be any castors amongst the packaging.
